Honey Newton is a Certified Nurse Midwife and a Family Nurse Practitioner with degrees from Gonzaga University, the University of Utah, and Colorado Mesa University. Prior to becoming a provider, she served as a Biologist in Colorado. She is the lead Lecturer for Gender in the Graduate School of Nursing at Gonzaga University. She started Heart & Hands in 2014 as a small, independent practice and is committed to providing the best medically available care to patients in all stages of life. She loves to spend time in the wilderness and run long races. She is the mother of 14 Foster/Adopted/Biological children.
Jeanne (Tremper) Baker is a Certified Nurse Midwife. She holds degrees from the Frontier School of Nursing and Case Western Reserve University. She has been providing women's health and midwifery care in the Flathead Valley for over twenty years. Jeanne is a beloved legend in our community and actively mentors the next generation of health care providers. She is privileged at Logan Health in Whitefish and Kalispell.
Brooke Hoving is a Family Nurse Practitioner with her graduate degree from Simmons University and undergraduate degree from the College of Saint Scholastica. She has experience throughout the lifespan and specializes in pediatrics. She and her husband love the outdoors and can be found in the backcountry when she is not helping her patients live better. She has a heart for the underserved and is always looking for ways to help you and your family. Brooke is privileged at Logan Health Whitefish.
Misha Russ is a Certified Nurse Midwife. She completed her first graduate program at Harbor-UCLA in 1998. During the following decade she worked as a nurse practitioner providing prenatal care, a sexual assault examiner at UCLA-Santa Monica, and as a volunteer at the Mae Tao clinic in Thailand. Misha received her graduate degree in Midwifery from Frontier Nursing University, completing her clinical training at Heart & Hands with Jeanne and Honey in 2019. Most recently, she has completed certification training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorder management, and is committed to integrating mental health and substance use disorder treatment into women’s primary care.
Chris Skieens is a Certified Nurse Midwife who received her Masters of Science in Nursing from Frontier Nursing University in 2018. Prior to entering midwifery, Chris was a labor and delivery nurse for 13 years. Her focus is to help empower birthing people and their families with care options, informed choice, self-determination and shared decision-making, with respect, and in a safe space. Chris also provides well-woman care, contraception, preconception, and she is passionate about serving the LGBTQ+ community in a comfortable space to meet their individual needs. When not working, she loves spending time with her husband, their son and two dogs. During her downtime, she enjoys creating art, live music, camping, hiking, skiing, boating and fishing.
Nastastia Byrd Han is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She earned her BSN at Montana State University and then her MSN at Maryville University. Nastastia specializes in Pediatric primary care. With 16 years of experience working with pediatric patients, her career has been shaped by her deep passion for this population. Together, Nastastia and her husband have 6 children. You can often find Nastastia and her family wake surfing on Flathead Lake, skiing on Whitefish Mountain, hiking in Glacier Park, mountain biking, running, traveling the world, and spending time with friends. Nastastia is committed to creating lifelong relationships with her patients and their families and feels privileged to be a part of so many children’s lives.
Laura Jones is a Family Nurse Practitioner. She completed her Master of Science in nursing at Gonzaga University, and her undergraduate degree at the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. She and her husband were both born and raised in the Flathead Valley, and after having been supported by those that lived here whilst growing up, they wanted to return the favor by sharing their practices within this beautiful valley. She feels privileged to offer her services to patients throughout their lifespan. She is committed to partnering with patients to help them live the life they choose. When out of the office, you will find Laura with her husband and two blue heelers exploring Montana or basking in its beauty - likely with a tasty coffee in hand.
